It trained that unruly hair to stay in place. Without alcohol or grease. Is there anyone out there who remembers this product?

Before there were Tums, there were Jests, a "grand little fixer for stomach discomfort." This fix for stomach acid was made by Jests, Inc. right here in Brooklyn. One roll only cost 10 cents. There is mention of a 1939 copyright in the first ad. Does anyone remember this product?
