St. Paul's will be a holding their Spring Rummage Sale on Saturday June 15, 2013, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the church's Parish Hall, located at 199 Carroll Street off the corner of Clinton St.

Come down and browse our goods. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you can find and buy at bargain prices. Stock up on some summer reads in both hardcover and paperback, pick out a new frock to wear on your summer adventures from our vintage clothing racks or let our freshly baked goods and franks and sliders hot off the grill tempt you into breaking your summer-is –coming-diet. We also have an eclectic collection of CD’S and DVD’s to choose from, and the usual bric or brac, knick knacks you have come to expect from sales like this. Choral Chameleon's 'Wide Waters' Concert At St. Paul's This Weekend

St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Carroll Gardens will be hosting another great evening of music this week-end. Choral Chameleon, a chamber chorus lead by artistic director and founder Vince Peterson, will be performing the Tamar of The River Oratorio and choral water music of Palestrina, Conrad Susa and Simon &Garfunkel.

Choral Chameleon and New York Theatre Barn present a fully-staged oratorio suite derived from the new musical Tamar of the River written by 2011 Jonathan Larson Award winners Joshua H. Cohen and Marisa Michelson, and starring Jessica Grové in the title role of Tamar and the singers of Choral Chameleon as the River. This compelling work, an adult fable, follows young Tamar on her quest for peace in times of war, as she journeys to the River's source to hear the voice of God. The project will fuse the best of the choral and theatrical worlds to create a new hybrid form of immersive, explosive, visually spectacular, and emotional live storytelling. St. Paul's Hosting Food Drive To Help Stock Local Food Pantry

For lent, St. Paul's Episcopal Church at Clinton and Carroll Street is hosting a food drive to help out First Presbyterian Church on Henry Street, which operates a food pantry.

Please consider contributing as even small donations make a big impact.Here are the details:

St. Paul's Lenten Food Drive

 The First Presbyterian Church on Henry Street runs a food pantry on Thursday mornings. They distribute food to over 100 families. St. Paul’s is sponsoring a food drive to aid them in their important work. 

Our last food drive was an over-whelming success, help us repeat this performance.
Food Bank for New York estimates that 1.4 million New Yorkers — the majority of whom are women, children, seniors, the working poor and people with disabilities — rely on soup kitchens and food pantries. Growing numbers of college educated and middle class citizens are feeling the pinch too.

Join us in helping to alleviate this problem by contributing a different food item each week. We will be accepting your donations on Sunday after 11:00 a.m. Mass, Tuesday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.and Saturdays 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. 
Donation boxes will be located just inside the church. St. Paul’s is located at 199 Carroll St, the church’s entrance is on Clinton St.

"Peter And The Wolf" At St. Paul's Church Tomorrow

St. Paul's Church, in partnership with Brooklyn Sounds Concert Series, is presenting Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" tomorrow, November 16th, 2012. There will be three performances during the day at 10:00, 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 PM and one in the evening at 7 PM. To make these performances in their Children's Concert series easily accessible to school children of all economic means, the tickets are only $8.

On Sunday October 7, 2012 at 2 pm., St. Paul's Episcopal Church  and Sacred Hearts- St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church will be holding the annual Blessing of the Animals in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The blessing will take place this year at Sacred Hearts-St. Stephens Church Yard at 125 Summit Street, located between Hicks and Henry Streets. In the event of rain the blessing will be held inside St. Paul's Church at 198 Carroll Street.
All in the community are invited to bring any and all animal members of their family to be blessed.

St. Paul's In Carroll Gardens Seeking Singers Of All Levels For Adult And Children's Choirs

St. Paul's Choir seeks eager avocational singers of all levels to join us beginning this fall!

The tradition of music has always played a vital role at St. Paul’s. We believe in the importance of the human voice and how it is central to all our rites of worship. All through the rich history of our parish you will find at every juncture high caliber musicians and parishioners with unwavering dedication, expressing their devotion to God through music. With the Fall season upon us, St Paul’s is seeking dedicated individuals who would like to continue this tradition by being a part of our adult choir or our children’s choir, The Treble Choir..

At the heart of our music ministry is St. Paul's Choir, a 20-25 voice volunteer choir who sing the high liturgy and provide meaningful anthems to augment Sunday mass. The Treble Choir provides a great singing and learning opportunity for young people, ages 6 and up. Singers explore solfege and Kodaly hand signs, and learn fundamentals of reading rhythm and pitch notation in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. St. Paul's Choir sings every Sunday, October through May, and The Treble Choir sings periodically throughout the same season. Both choirs enjoy giving concerts in addition to their important Sunday morning work.

Commitment details:

Treble Choir - Ages 6 to 14 Weekly rehearsal on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00pm

St. Paul's Choir - Weekly rehearsal on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:15pm, plus occasional extra rehearsals

Sunday mornings, beginning promptly at 9:30am, with Mass from 11am to 12:30pm

Repertoire:

Sacred music of all time periods, but focusing primarily on Renaissance, Baroque, and 20th Century composers.

Rudimentary music reading is a plus, but not required to join.
