This Thanksgiving, get your turkey, fresh produce and everything you need for your feast directly from nearby farms.

Local Roots NYC’s  Pop Up Thanksgiving CSA  is offering deliciously fresh produce that can be delivered or picked up at several Brooklyn locations.
Go on their website and select from whole turkeys, fresh vegetables, fruit, homemade bread, ciders, cheeses and more.

There are two pick-up locations right here in the neighborhood. One is 61 Local, 61 Bergen Street, in Boerum Hill and the other is Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain, 513 Henry Street, in Carroll Gardens.

Orders must be received by Friday, October 26th, so don't wait.

I am knee deep in carrots and potatoes, the bird is ready to be taken out of the fridge to be stuffed, and there is still much to do before dinner.  I am sure it's the same in your household.
I am thankful to you, my wonderful Readers and Friends, for your comments, encouragement and most importantly, for keeping me on my toes. I wish you and your loved ones a splendid Thanksgiving Day.

The turkey is defrosting, my house is almost cleaned and the cranberry chutney is bubbling on the stove, infusing the house with a heavenly scent.
I am thankful to be able to spend Thanksgiving right here in Carroll Gardens, surrounded by my little family. There truly is no place like home (except maybe a first class hotel in the Caribbean?)
I want to wish you, dear Reader, a wonderful holiday and would like to thank you for your loyalty, your clever comments and for inspiring me to write.
I'll meet you back here on Monday.
Cheers, Katia

Dear Friends,

I would like to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving and hope that you have lots to be thankful for.

I am staying right here in Brooklyn this week-end and am looking forward to a quiet holiday with my family and friends.
The turkey is defrosting in the refrigerator, the wine is chilled and the table is already set.

Have a great time everyone, and if you are traveling out of town, have a great trip!

Dear Readers,
I hope that even in these unsettling times, you have plenty to be thankful for. I know I do, though I do have to remind myself sometimes. My little family is staying right here in Carroll Gardens this year. No trains, planes or automobiles. The turkey is in the fridge, the cranberry chutney is made and everything is bought, ready to go. The house still needs to be cleaned, but hey, I found time between blogging and running to B.S.A. meetings to wash the living room curtains....Not bad, I say.
Pardon Me For Asking will be back right here on Monday morning. Till then, have a great Thanksgiving.
