Brand new bike lane markings on Hoyt Street in Carroll Gardens

A three wheeler noisily barreling down Hoyt at Carroll Street!

Speaking of bikes...
Have you seen the new bike lane markings down Smith Street? Pretty great, I say. Maybe now, I will worry a bit less when my son rides downtown on his two-wheeler.

Hoyt Street, too, has new markings. Since the street is rather narrow and cars are allowed to park on either side, the entire street has become cycle friendly.

Not sure it was necessarily meant for the motorized bikes which were barreling down Hoyt when I crossed the street.

Rolling Orange Opening Poster

click photo to enlarge

Cool! Rolling Orange is coming to the green storefront at 269 Baltic Street and the grand opening is this Saturday, June 12th,
Rolling Orange is a bike store which will introduce Dutch bike culture to this city. The store will feature fun Dutch two-wheelers which are truly meant for every day commuting. You see, they are sturdier and feature large storage baskets which make it possible to haul groceries home.
(You may have seen some of the bikes in the 269 Baltic space already. Some were also parked in front of Vespa Real Estate for a while.)

But Rolling Orange will be much more than just a bicycle store. They will also feature bike-themed events and movies. Sounds great to me!

Grand Opening!

June 12th
8 PM
