The roundtable is an informal way for the community to address concerns and to discuss issues with elected officials series of In the past, the association has invited Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Councilman Brad Lander and Assemblywoman Joan Millman.

'Moustache' Graffiti Artist Tags Ads In Carroll Street F Train Station

This is actually quite funny. For a few months now, someone has been writing the word "Moustache" above the upper lip of faces appearing in subway ads. Now, the 'Moustache' artist has been adding cursive facial hair to movie posters in the Carroll Street F train station.

The elusive street/subway artist has already been mentioned on quite a few blogs as well as by WNYC. Who says a Sharpie can't pave the way to celebrity?

Local Artist Regina Perlin Part Of Show In Soho

Painter Regina Perlin working on the Carroll Street Bridge, Gowanus

Local artist Regina Perlin is one of my favorite artists. Her paintings of the Gowanus Canal area are simply stunning. Her work is currently part of a show at the Federation Of Modern Painters & Sculptors in Soho. The opening reception is tonight, but the show is up till February 20th. If you can't make it to the show but want to see some of Regina's work right here in the neighborhood, stop by Perfect Corner at 345 Smith Street. The framing store has quite a few of her works.

'Mocha Bagels' On Smith Almost Ready For Grand Opening

Since October, the storefront at 202 Smith Street in Boerum Hill has been surrounded by a construction fence, but yesterday, workers were finally removing it to reveal Smith Street's newest bagel shop, Mocha Bagels . From the looks of it, the place is ready for its grand opening fairly soon.
Prior to this, 202 Smith Street was home to the A & H Tobacco and Candy Store.

Since that end of Smith Street doesn't have a bagel store yet, it probably will do well. What do you think?
