305 Smith Street at the corner of Smith and Union Streets is as beautiful today as it was in 1928. Just look at the vintage photo above. The building is virtually unchanged. However, 80 years ago, a laundromat and a vegetable store occupied the ground floor. A sign attached to the façade indicates that a dentist may have practiced on the second floor. Today, the house is home to the Union Smith Café. And next door? 307 Smith is currently The Fall Café. I can not make out what it was in 1928. Can you?
Don't you wish you could go back in time for just one day?

Once again, I have to thank Carroll Gardens resident Alexandrea for sharing her treasure trove of old photos with us.
