A Walking Tour Of Carroll Gardens

Saturday, March 27
&
Sunday, March 28th

Both At 11 AM

Friend and fellow blogger Brooks Of Sheffield over at 'Lost City,' hosted a walking tour of Carroll Gardens West back in November. The walk was such a success that Brooks decided to add two tours of Carroll Gardens Proper on the last week-end in March. He writes:

Each tour will begin at the war memorial in the center of Carroll Park. We will learn about that park, the third oldest in Brooklyn; why the neighborhood has "gardens" in its name; a terrible murder on Third Street; about the area's little known Norwegian and German histories; visits the former homes of churches, brothels, social clubs, political clubs and Pulitzer Prize-winner; and sample local foodstuffs. The tour lasts two hours and the cost is $20 per person.

If you're interested, please make a reservation as space is limited.

For further details, go to Brooks' site, Lost City and make a reservation by contacting him at lostcitybrooks at gmail dot com.

Given Brooks' love of history and local lore, I am sure that his tours are quite fascinating. (I am hoping to attend the one of Carroll Gardens.)
