Twice a year, thousands of New Yorkers pitch in at hundreds of city parks on "It's My Park Day," in association with Partnership for Parks. Join friends and neighbors this Saturday, 10/15 from 11 Am to 3 PM for:
- Volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels, including planting, weeding, painting, cleaning, fence mending, and mulching.
- Volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels, including planting, weeding, painting, cleaning, fence mending, and mulching.
- Plant exchange: bring offshoots from your own garden patch to plant in the park, and we'll send you home with your own living piece of Carroll Park!
- Kids Programs! There will be fun stuff for the kids from noon onward, highlighted by an awesome sword fighting demonstration in front of the Robert Acito Park House at 1:00, presented by Carroll Park's very own Shakespeareans, Smith Street Stage.
- Book swap: on Saturday we're introducing a new fixture at our events, rolling out our big red book cart! Thanks to donations from volunteers and supporters, we've got a ton of FREE books for the taking. We encourage you to bring by your old titles and take home some new ones!
