It had been a while since I paid Marty Markowitz's rats a visit at Brooklyn Borough Hall. So I decided to go and see how the little critters were doing. And guess what? They seem to be just fine, thank you.

No amount of poison seems to bother them. First the Parks Department tried to bait the area in an effort to control the rodent population. Then, a private outfit was brought in to exterminate. That was back in February.

Judging by the number and size of the burrows, things haven't gotten any better.
Pardon me for asking, but what kind of super mutant rats are these that rodenticides don't make a dent in the population?
