This is so cool. John Heyer, of Marty Markowitz's office and 5th generation Carroll Gardens neighbor, will be hosting a series of guided walking tours through the neighborhood. The proceeds will go directly towards the Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association.
The first in the series will be on May 31st and is called "The Sacred Sites Of Carroll Gardens." It promises to be very interesting. John is not only an aide to our borough prez, but also an archivist for Sacret Hearts-St Stephen Church. In addition, he curated the " Sacred Hearts: a journey of Italian Catholics in the Borough of Curches" which ran at the Brooklyn Historical Society in the fall.
Info for the walking tour below:

Join guide John Heyer, as he takes us through time to explore the rich architectural and religious history of Carroll Gardens.
The tour will stop at St. Stephens R.C. Church, St Paul Episcopal. St. Agnes R.C. Church and St. Mary's Star of the Sea R.C. Church. You will also learn about former houses of worship like the Southern Congregationalist Church at Court and President, the Methosist church that once stood at Summit and Henry as well as many others that have been long demolished or converted.
