Public Place Affordable Housing ...For The Birds

The first affordable housing unit seems to have gone up at Gowanus Public Place at Smith and 5th Street . Not quite designed by Rogers Marvel Architects, I am afraid. Its for the birds, you see.
The super toxic
5.8 acre canal front lot, a former gas manufacturing site owned by Brooklyn Union Gas, has been slated for development. "Gowanus Green" will include over 700 units of mixed-income housing.
