More fun with Carroll Gardens school stories. My previous posts about Sacred Hearts and St. Agnes in the early 1960's prompted reader and Carroll Gardener Francis Pirrone to send in a math and a spelling tests from his own school days at St. Mary's in 1958. You see, his mother kept many objects from his childhood. Luckily. What great documents (and super grades)!

Francis writes:

It was a rule homework had to be checked and signed by our parents. Same thing with the test we had to bring them back in the next day and Miss McCormack would check the signature (note the examination instructions at the top and, of course. In those days,it was a sin to cheat. Me and my brother went to St. Mary's. My two sisters went to Sacred Hearts.

Thanks, Francis!
