I have not missed many of the free performances by the New York Philharmonic in Prospect Park over the last two decades. As a matter of fact, it has become a summer ritual for my family, as it has for many Brooklynites.
Last night, the performance under the stars was as great as it gets. As another glorious day came to an end, people gathered at the park's Long Meadow ballfields, spread out their blankets, food and wine and enjoyed the music.
This year's program included Mozart, Symphony 41, Jupiter and Beethoven, Symphony 7.
And just when everyone thought it could not possibly get any better, the sky lit up with a display of fireworks.

Thanks to our friends who shared the evening with us. It is always great hanging out with you, even if some of you sleep through the entire performance!
