NY Writers Coalition, has gotten involved with the Hurricane Sandy recovery effort by way of what we do best: writing workshops. In response to the storm, we decided to provide a space for people to find community and write in a supportive environment. So, we launched a handful of new free, drop-in workshops last week in shelters, libraries, and other community spaces and have more in the works in Red Hook and Coney Island.
The writing group is facilitated by a member of the community who also lives in Carroll Gardens, and we really hope that this will be a great space for folks to get together and do a little writing and storytelling. For all information, click here.
