THE COMMITTEE TO IMPROVE CARROLL PARK

THE COMMITTEE TO IMPROVE CARROLL PARK
IS THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE

THE CARROLL PARK CONCERT SERIES RETURNS
WITH AudraRox ON JUNE 21st!

Back for Summer 2008, this delightful series of free concerts, featuring bands suitable for the whole family, will kick off its season and celebrate the end of the school year with a very special performance by Brooklyn’s own AudraRox!

Revived by local mom of two Simmi Degnemark, and aided by a team of other local volunteer moms, the Carroll Park Concert Series will provide multiple enjoyable afternoons of kid-friendly entertainment in the community’s own backyard. With the series in jeopardy after last year’s organizer moved out of state, Ms. Degnemark agreed to tackle the project. She is determined to keep this burgeoning community tradition alive for the benefit
of all the kids (and grown-ups!) in the neighborhood.

Time Out New York Kids Readers Choice Award winning band – AudraRox is "the Queen of the NYC kid-rock scene"! Audra..."has an approach to kids' music that blends punky energy with PB&J homeyness!" You can check out AudraRox doing their rockin' bluegrass tune Hope my Mama Says YES! on Noggin's Jack's Big Music Show and look for them on Sesame Street season #39 & #40. "Audra's dynamic personality, cool songs, and show stopping band are sure to entertain the whole family" (MSP Kids)

The first concert will be a part of Make Music New York, a live, free musical celebration across the city that takes place each June 21, the longest day of the year and the first day of summer. On that day, public space throughout the five boroughs—sidewalks, parks, community gardens, and more—will host live, outdoor musical performances. Carroll Park is delighted to be a part of this ambitious project.

FUTURE CONCERTS ARE SCHEDULED FOR:
July 9, July 23, August 6, August 20
ALL CONCERTS WILL BE HELD AT 4PM
CARROLL PARK, SMITH STREET AT PRESIDENT STREET
CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE!
