When Carroll Gardens Commuters Come Home Tonight, The 2nd Place F Train Plaza Will Be Closed

Starting at 10 Am today, the 2nd Street subway entrance will be only option at that end of the F/G train

A few weeks ago, the M.T.A. announced that the main F & G train station in Carroll Gardens would close in September 15th, due to the construction at 360 Smith Street.

Well, the day has finally come. Starting at 10 AM today, the main subway station in Carroll Gardens on 2nd Place between Smith and Court Streets will be closed.

Commuters getting on and off from that end of the train will have to use the much narrower 2nd Street entrance between Smith and Hoyt.

Good luck. That entrance is so much narrower than the other Carroll Gardens Stations. It is hard to imagine all the commuters squeezing through during rush hour.

Of course, the two entrances at President Street will still be open.

The closure of the subway plaza is expected to go all the way till the end of 2010.
