It was unseasonably hot on Sunday, but despite the heat, it seemed that everyone in Carroll Gardens was out at the Court Street Festival. From President Street to West 9th Street, huge crowds moved slowly between the many booths, checking out the wares, listening to music and catching up with friends and neighbors.
And then there was the food: Italian sausages, zepoles, frozen concoctions and, of course, slices of
P.J. Hanley's roast pig, chased down with a cold beer.
In other words: a great day in the neighborhood.
P.S.: Did you get to hear the very entertaining sales pitch of the Vegetable Chopper salesman? He certainly did a brisk business.
