I know Mr. Stein, developer of 360 Smith doesn't much like bloggers. That's all right. I don't particularly like developers who aren't up front about what they are going to build in my neighborhood.

That having been said, Billy Stein is returning to my little community on Monday to attend the Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association meeting. Hopefully, he will share his redesigned vision for the corner of Smith and Second Place. His infamous architect, Robert Scarano, failed in his first attempt to come up with something that will fit contextually into this brownstone neighborhood. Hopefully, the new plans will call for less metal and more brick or even, (dare we dream?), brownstone.

After Stein's last visit back in April, he promised to continue the dialog. Unfortunately, Carroll Gardeners have not been able to communicate with him since then. This caused quite a bit of frustration and mistrust. It will be interesting to see what kind of welcome he will receive. It may be a much warmer reception if Mr. Stein comes prepared with the final architectural plans this time and is willing to answer the many questions put worth by the neighborhood for so long.
