For twelve long years, this brownstone beauty on President Street between Smith and Hoyt has been standing empty, neglected and lingering in estate limbo. During that time, it was, for a short period, home to a squatter who broke in from the back yard. Neighbors kept an eye on it, cutting the hedges and the grass when the garden became too overgrown.
The house was finally sold about two years ago, but renovation was delayed till now. Just recently, some permits have been issued by the D.o.B. and work has started.
Lets hope that the renovation will do justice to this beautiful house. It has a wonderfully detailed façade that still sports its original brownstone.
It's nice to finally see it get some attention!
