Late in the afternoon, pelicans fly along the beach here in Surfside, South Carolina. In groups of five, six or more, they glide overhead in perfect formation. I have not managed to capture them all. Just this lone bird, photographed seconds before he would have disappeared over the roof of the house. But somehow, I like the photo just the way it is.
